Learning and Educational Assessment

Children learn through different modalities, and at different rates while still falling in the “typical” range for their age. However, your child’s teachers may notice that your child has greater difficulty keeping up with his or her peers in a certain subject (e.g., reading, math, writing), take longer than expected to process or think through information, seem to “forget” information readily or have difficulty following directions on assignments. As parents, you may also notice that homework is a painful or emotional struggle to get through, or take longer than teachers indicate it might take.
