Externs will have intensive training in psychological/psychoeducational assessment, with an ethnically and economically diverse population as well as psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and/or adults. All externs will treat at least eight to ten patients (children, adolescents, adults) weekly in ongoing individual therapy for the year, in addition to completing approximately five detailed and comprehensive testing evaluations. Conducting group therapy (co-led with another clinician), couples therapy, and family therapy are also options that can be provided, if desired.
Externs will participate in weekly individual supervision sessions, weekly group supervision sessions, and testing supervision. Didactic seminars may be included in any group supervision. Externs will have the opportunity to present complex therapy and testing cases and obtain helpful feedback from supervisors, staff psychologists, and co-externs.
