What Is PSYPACT®?

The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT®) is an interstate compact that helps qualified licensed psychologists provide psychological services across state lines. PSYPACT was created to make it easier for individuals to access mental health care while maintaining professional standards and regulatory oversight across participating states.

Through PSYPACT®, eligible psychologists can provide telepsychology services to clients located in other participating states without needing to obtain a separate psychology license in every state where they provide services. PSYPACT also provides an authorization pathway for qualified psychologists to provide temporary, in-person psychological services in participating states.

What Does PSYPACT® Authorization Allow?

PSYPACT® authorization allows eligible psychologists to provide services across participating state lines under the requirements and regulations established by the compact.

For telepsychology, psychologists may provide services remotely to clients located in participating PSYPACT states when the psychologist meets the requirements for an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT®). This can help make it possible for clients to continue working with their psychologist when they relocate to another participating state or when specialized psychological services are not readily available in their area.

PSYPACT® also offers a Temporary Authorization to Practice (TAP®) for qualified psychologists who provide temporary, in-person psychological services in participating states where they are not separately licensed, subject to PSYPACT requirements and state-specific regulations.

At Bridges Therapy and Wellness Center, our PSYPACT®-authorized clinicians have met the applicable requirements to practice under the compact. Their individual PSYPACT® certificates of authorization are provided below for verification and transparency.

Please note that PSYPACT® authorization does not replace professional licensure. Psychologists practicing under PSYPACT® remain responsible for following the laws, regulations, and scope-of-practice requirements that apply in the state where services are provided.

Where Can PSYPACT Clinicians See Clients Virtually?

PSYPACT-authorized psychologists can provide telepsychology services to clients located in participating PSYPACT states, provided they meet the applicable authorization requirements. Availability may vary depending on the clinician’s authorization and the client’s location.
