Lisa Kellogg, PhD, LMFT, LPC
Are you ready to take ownership over your healing from past hurts? Feel willing to work towards change to create the life you want? If so, reach out to get started working with me. I enjoy working with teens and adults who are ready and willing to work towards change, and who take the lead in the healing process. It’s helpful to recognize that I, as a therapist, can provide you with tools, and guide you in the hard work of using these tools to grow and heal. I enjoy working with clients individually, as well as doing marital and family therapy to improve communication and strengthen families.
It is rewarding to teach you skills to help you manage emotions in difficult times, and to help you figure out which skills are most effective for you. Working in therapy can help you to discover the strengths you already have and how you can use these strengths to further your growth and healing. I enjoy working with you as you may struggle with attachment issues, difficult relationships, trauma, and mood difficulties, such as depression and anxiety. Together, we can also explore issues related to spirituality and faith, an area often impacted by trauma, and help you to develop a healthy spirituality, when this is your goal.
While I am trained in and utilize many different therapeutic models and techniques (primarily CBT, DBT, Intergenerational family therapy, and EMDR), I have found EMDR to be a very effective treatment to help clients heal past traumas. This effective method can also help to resolve unhelpful thoughts and memories related to early relationship wounds, trauma, depression and anxiety. With EMDR, I have watched clients learn to let go of painful memories, heal from past traumas, and view themselves and their lives differently. We can help you to do this, too.
What I like most about private practice is the freedom to work with you to make the best gains given the techniques we can implement together. It is always my goal to connect well with you and provide the best possible care to those with whom I work.
